OMC PHARMACY MEETS ZAMBIA MEDICINES REGULATORY AUTHORITY OVER ONLINE PHARMACY OPERATIONS

This morning, our team led by Managing Director Mr. Obbie Chomba met with the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority - Zamra to present and demonstrate our innovative online pharmacy platform -a solution designed to help customers access pharmaceutical products and services from the comfort of their homes.

At OMC Pharmacy, our vision is to pioneer and lead the transformation of digital retail pharmacy services in Zambia. We envision a future where clients can shop, seek professional advice, and receive quality pharmaceutical care without stepping into a physical store.

Recognizing the digital shift in healthcare, we believe such platforms will not only enhance convenience but also improve access and affordability-especially for people in remote areas who often face challenges obtaining essential medicines and services.

Our Operations and Regulatory Lead, Dr. Joseph Mwila, addressed key concerns on data security and regulatory compliance, assuring that our platform upholds the highest standards as guided by ZAMRA.

The passion and dream for establishing retail pharmacies that adhere to global standards began shortly after I completed my diploma in pharmacy in 2013. Since then, my commitment to serving communities with the utmost care and integrity has only grown stronger. It was only a matter of time before our brand would take shape, but the big question was, "What kind of brand should it be?"

With 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and having assisted entrepreneurs across Zambia in building sustainable businesses, we decided to create a center of excellence for community pharmacy practice. This center aims to provide quality services and value for money to patients, customers, students, and community members alike.

After countless sleepless nights, challenges, and experiments, we officially opened the doors to our first retail outlet, OMC Pharmacy Limited , on August 24, 2024. Our pharmacy business is committed to being a pioneer and leader in digital retail pharmacy services in Zambia.

Recognizing the need to transform the retail pharmacy landscape in line with global trends, we have ventured into offering Tele Pharmacy services. This innovative service allows patients to interact with pharmacy personnel and access essential pharmaceutical and medical services using technology, all from the comfort of their homes.

As we continue to build and refine our systems to achieve our objectives, we are in the process of fully operationalizing the business and welcome everyone to join us on this journey. We are deeply grateful to God Almighty for the gift of life, as well as to our family, friends, colleagues, business associates, and mentors (Coach Steady Saini Kennedy L, Dr Kabani, Chavunga Lungu, Tania Nyirongo to mention a few) for their unwavering support in bringing this dream to life.

OMC Pharmacy, with its vision, will also offer franchise opportunities to other entrepreneurs who share our passion and vision, enabling them to implement similar systems in different areas of their choice once these systems are fully actualized.
