🦟 World Malaria Day

Regardless of how it looks these days, malaria is still a danger to our community.

Malaria is preventable. Malaria is treatable. Yet it still costs lives in our communities every day.

We have the tools; the nets, the tests, the treatment, and now the vaccines. What's left is action. ✊

✅ Sleep under your treated net
✅ Seek care early when fever strikes
✅ Complete every dose, and spread the awareness.

A malaria-free Zambia always starts with us. 💙

Hospital care saves lives.
Home care improves quality of life.

Many people think care only happens in hospitals… but real actual long-term recovery often happens at home.

Here’s the difference:

Hospital Care

- Short-term
- Focused on treatment & emergencies
- Busy environment

Home Care (BLMDcare)

- Long-term support
- Personalized attention and care
- Comfort of the familiar surroundings of home
- Emotional and mental support

Basically,
The best care combines both.

Let us help you extend care beyond the hospital.

🌿 WEDNESDAY WELLNESS; Your Weekly Dose of Health from BLMDcare 🌿

This week, we're talking about something almost every Zambian home has too much of, salt.

Excess salt (sodium) is one of the biggest contributors to High blood pressure (hypertension) in Zambia, and most people don't even know they have it. That's why hypertension is called "the silent killer."

Here's what too much salt does to your body:
→ Causes your body to retain water, increasing blood volume
→ Forces your heart to work harder
→ Raises blood pressure over time
→ Increases risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney failure

📊 The WHO recommends no more than 5g of salt per day (about 1 teaspoon). Most Zambians consume nearly double that.
Which we mostly get from our fast foods

💡 BLMDcare's 3 Easy Swaps This Week:
1️⃣ Don't make takeout food an everyday thing. Once a week is more than enough.
2️⃣ Replace or reduce the amount of salt you use. You can add garlic, or citrus juice like lemon, to help increase the salt taste without the need for added sodium
3️⃣ Avoid stock cubes, use salt-free seasonings, clearly labeled low-sodium versions, or natural herbs

We provide trained, compassionate nursing assistants who:
✔ Assist with daily living (bathing, feeding, mobility)
