We got our buck at $1000 for 2 reasons. We want to breed quality and healthy goats. The buck determines the genotype, phenotype, body condition, and size.

The $1000 you pay is not for the goat. It is for the genetics, increased productivity, the robustness it transfers to your herd, fast growth, and heavy weight in the offsprings, and also for the high fertility.

More than 50% of all your costs of a starting goat farming business should be invested into the genetics, and the remaining costs are shared between management and nutrition.

INVESTING IN KNOWLEDGE
As FM Nature Farm, we value all forms of knowledge via consultations, farm visits, and practical hands-on training.

Being Practical, our workers are on 2 weeks intensive hands-on training in general livestock management, animal nutrition, animal health and disease detection, and prevention, and farm record keeping.

Why is it important?

Growth in business and breeding is equivalent to your practical knowledge and skills. we want to be highly productive.

We want our team to make informed decisions in relation to farm operations

There is nothing satisfying than a job whose ins and outs you know

Animal welfare matters to us. we want to be among the businesses that raise healthy and happy animals

Nothing is as costly as ignorance when handling business, especially animal breeding and health. we want to cut down on this cost and eventually mitigate it completely with more regular training

WATER

When getting farmland, it is crucial that you consider the availability of either surface or underground water or even both.

There is nothing more painful and waste of resources in farming than moving from one dry borehole to another.

Your farming enterprise; be it livestock, orchards, and horticulture, requires water to thrive.

Water is life

HOW TO STOCK GOATS CORRECTLY
1. Stock large numbers at once for easy management and monitoring
2. If you already have animals at the farm, quarantine is recommended for at least 2 to 4 weeks.
3. While in quarantine, monitor for the signs of infection and treat appropriately. Sick animals need to be isolated to prevent s[pread of disease.
4. Examine the animals physically for signs of infection and worm infestation
5.Plunge to dip all the animals being stocked and repeat weekly during the rainy season; in the dry season, it can be done 2 weekly
6. Administer antibiotics to all the animals from stocking to treat shipping fever and general infections
7.Deworm all the animals at stocking
8. Provide multivitamin supplements to improve nutrition
9. Slowly introduce your animals to feed
10. Provide mineral blocks slowly to the animals
11. Administer multivaxP vaccine to all the animals, which should be repeated after 4 weeks as a booster vaccine
