The current situation in most schools has significantly improved following the introduction of the school feeding programme by Hakainde Hichilema. Many learners now attend classes more consistently, as access to meals has reduced absenteeism and improved concentration.

The programme has also eased the burden on families, particularly in vulnerable communities, while creating a more conducive learning environment. As a result, both academic performance and overall pupil wellbeing are steadily improving across many schools.
