•》Hypertension also known as High Blood Pressure is a chronic health complication that affects the body's arteries, if you have high blood pressure the force of the blood pushing against the artery walls is consistently too high.
• Blood Pressure is measured in a/b mm Hg in which the top number or numerator a is the systolic blood pressure, meaning the blood pressure when your heart is relaxed and the bottom number or the denominator b is the diastolic blood pressure, meaning to say the blood pressure when your heart is contracting.
• NORMAL BLOOD PRESSURE-- has a reading of 120/80 mm Hg or slightly below
• ELEVATED BLOOD PRESSURE-- has readings of 120-129/80 and below mm Hg
• STAGE 1 HYPERTENSION-- has readings of 130-139/80-89 mm Hg
• STAGE 2 HYPERTENSION-- has readings of 140>/90> mm Hg
• NB: mm Hg = millimeters mercury
