Bhaju's story:
Ronald Junior, Known As Bhaju (Rjay)
Born a healthy and normal baby without any medical concerns, he was known as an active, happy, caring, and loving boy throughout the seven years of his short life. One day, in 2018, when Rjay was 5 years old and came back from school, his mother noticed a significant swelling on his face, from the left ear extending to the neck area. His mother thought it was just one of those typical children’s illnesses, such as mumps or something. He was taken to the doctors, who did some blood tests and a biopsy of Rjays’ swollen area. When the test results came back, they showed that Rjay had N-HL cancer of the blood. This was such a shock and did not prepare the family at all for what was to follow. Rjay’s’ condition progressed, and his health deteriorated quite rapidly over the next few years. Young Rjay was usually in a lot of pain, and by 2021, neither he nor his parents could sleep most nights because no medicines or treatments could relieve Rjay’s pain anymore.
BHAJU'S FAMILY:
Rjay was the youngest of the five (5) children, and his parents run a small orthopaedic and spinal specialist private hospital in Harare. The hospital provides services to the poor and middle-income groups of the local population. They expanded the scope of their services by acquiring medical equipment that could also help any patients with the same illness as their son’s. For the two years of Rjay’s illness, his parents tirelessly provided him with the care and support he needed. Despite all their efforts and medical interventions, Rjay still could not be saved and sadly passed away, leaving his parents devastated. In addition to the devastation of losing a child, they accrued a large debt acquiring medical equipment, tests, treatments, hospital admissions’ bills, and interest, which has now accumulated to one hundred and thirty-nine thousand dollars (US$139,000.00). This is the reason this campaign has been initiated on behalf of Mr. and Mrs. Kufirwa, seeking your support and help to overcome this huge financial burden they face while continuing to pick up the pieces of life and care for the remaining children. Your kind help and donation would help to pay off their overdue debts and bills as a priority and enable them to rebuild their hospital business, which was a great help to the community. Thank you for taking the time to read this tragic story of Rjay and his family. Any help you can provide will be greatly reatly appreciated. Si Mr. and Mrs. Victor Coles and James Kandoje
