1. What are Hemorrhoids (piles)? Hemorrhoids, also known as piles, are swollen veins in your re**um or anùs. They can be internal (inside the re**um) or external (under the skin around the a**s). They often result in discomfort, pain, and bleeding.
👉 Internal Hemorrhoids: Usually painless but can cause bleeding during bowel movements.
👉 External Hemorrhoids: These are more painful and can cause itching, swelling, and bleeding. Knowing the type can is important in managing symptoms better!
2. Causes of Hemorrhoids Several factors increase your risk:
- Straining during bowel movements
- Chronic constipation or diarrhea
- Sitting for too long in one place
- Sitting for long periods on the toilet seat
- Obesity
- Pregnancy (due to pressure on pelvic veins)
- Low-fiber diet
- Heavy lifting etc.
However, some people are genetically predisposed to have piles and that's why you noticed that certain family members suffers it. Sadly!
3. Symptoms of Hemorrhoids Watch out for...
- Painless bleeding during bowel movements
- Itching or irritation around the anùs
- Pain or discomfort
- Swelling around the anùs
- A lump near your anùs (can be sensitive or painful)
- Difficulty cleaning after a toilet.
- Staining of underwear etc.
If you notice these, take action early to prevent worsening symptoms!
4. Home Herbal Remedy for Hemorrhoids

Go to your backyard or the Market and plug 20 Scent Leafs, and 10 Bitter leaves —common, easy-to-find herbs that can easily be seen around.
Preparation:
-Boil the fresh leaves in 2 cups of water for 10-15 minutes.
-Strain the tea and let it cool slightly.
- Immediately, take 1 cup of this tea twice daily (morning and evening).
- Use the remaining 1 cup to also soak a clean cloth or towel and apply it to the affected area for gently.
