When a tendon in your biceps muscle tears, the muscle can bunch up and form a large, painful ball on your upper arm. This bulge is called a Popeye deformity or Popeye sign.

The bulge in your arm will be visible if you have a complete tear in the biceps tendon. A partial tear might not create an obvious bulge but may still cause pain and other symptoms.

you have other injuries to the shoulder, such as:
✅️a rotator cuff injury
✅️you’re a young athlete
✅️your occupation requires full use of your arm for repetitive motion (carpentry, for example)
✅️you’re unhappy with the way a Popeye deformity looks
✅️conservative treatment doesn’t relieve your pain

The Modified Schober's Test, a physical examination used to measure the range of motion in the lumbar spine (lower back).

Procedure:

1.Marking: With the patient standing, a mark is made at the level of the PSIS (the dimples of Venus). A second mark is made 10 cm above and a third 5 cm below the first.

2. Measurement: The patient bends forward as far as possible. The distance between the top and bottom marks is measured.

Evaluation:

🙏Normal: An increase in distance of ≥ 5 cm (total distance ≥ 20 cm).
❗️Positive Test (Abnormal): An increase in distance of < 5 cm (total distance < 20 cm).

Note: This suggests a limitation of lumbar flexion.

Fat wallet syndrome, or wallet neuritis, is a neuromuscular condition caused by sitting on a thick, heavy wallet in a back pocket. It compresses the sciatic nerve and piriformis muscle, causing hip/back pain and sciatica-like symptoms. It can lead to pelvic misalignment, causing tingling or radiating pain.
