SYMPTOMS OF SMALL TO SEVERE DIABETES SHOW ON THE TOES
✏️ Lesions usually begin in 𝐧𝐠𝐨́𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐚̂𝐧, the finger is lost sensation. These are prone to injury, formation of calluses, ulcers, infection and necrosis. Nerve damage causes decreased sweating and dry skin, making the patient's skin more prone to cracking, ulcers, and gangrene.
Diabetic calluses are areas of 𝐝𝐚̀𝐲 and 𝐜𝐮̛́𝐧𝐠 cells that increase the risk of ulcers and infection.
Patients may not notice when their shoes rub. This lack of sensation increases the risk of and 𝐫𝐨̣̂𝐩. May delay treatment of infection.
Diabetic ulcers often don't notice sores until they become severe.
