أكمل الدكتور العتيبي برنامج الزمالة في الرعاية التلطيفية للأطفال في جامعة كولومبيا البريطانية، وجامعة كالجاري، وجامعة ألبرتا، وهو حاصل على دبلوم الدراسات العليا في طب الرعاية التلطيفية من جامعة كارديف في ويلز. كما أنه يحمل شهادة البورد السعودي في طب الأطفال من مستشفى الملك فيصل التخصصي بالرياض، وحصل على بكالوريوس الطب، وبكالوريوس الجراحة وبكالوريوس في التوليد من كلية الجراحين الملكية في ايرلندا، دبلن.

يتميّز د. العتيبي بخبرة تمتد لأكثر من 20 عاماً في رعاية الأطفال المصابين بحالات طبية معقدة وخطيرة، عبر مجموعة واسعة من أقسام وتخصصات طب الأطفال. ويُعد الدكتور العتيبي مرجعاً متميزاً في إدارة الألم والسيطرة على الأعراض، إضافةً إلى دعم الأسر وإشراكها في اتخاذ القرارات العلاجية. كما يولي اهتماماً كبيراً بالتعاون مع الفرق الطبية لتقديم رعاية إنسانية آمنة، ومصممة بعناية لتلبية الاحتياجات الصحية لكل طفل من مرضانا الصغار.

We are pleased to welcome Dr Qutaibah Alotaibi, Consultant in Paediatric Palliative Care, to SEHA Sheikh Khalifa Medical City.

Dr Alotaibi completed fellowship training in Paediatric Palliative Care at the University of British Columbia, the University of Calgary, and the University of Alberta, and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Palliative Medicine from Cardiff University, Wales. He completed his Saudi Board in Paediatrics at King Faisal Specialist Hospital, Riyadh, and earned his MB, B*h, BAO degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dublin.

With 20 years of experience, Dr Alotaibi has cared for children with serious and complex medical conditions across a wide range of paediatric settings.

He is recognised for his expertise in pain and symptom management and for guiding families through care planning and shared decision making. Dr Alotaibi works closely with his medical teams to deliver care that is compassionate, safe, and tailored to each child’s needs.

Dr Jawaid is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Paediatric Surgery and holds a Certificate of Completion of Training in Paediatric Surgery. He completed his MPhil and PhD at the University of Cambridge, where he was awarded the Beddington Medal in 2020 for his PhD research into developmental anomalies. With over 20 years of experience, Dr Jawaid served as a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon in Oxford, UK, specialising in thoracic, oncology, and urology surgery.

He is recognised for his expertise in minimally invasive thoracic surgery, paediatric urology, and general paediatric surgery, combining technical precision with compassionate care for children facing complex conditions.
