The Société Internationale d'Urologie (SIU) and the Emirates Urological Society (EUS) have been closely monitoring the evolving situation in the Middle East over the past week and recognize its impact on the SIU–EUS Congress scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from October 14–17, 2026.

After careful consideration, the joint SIU–EUS Congress 2026 will be postponed. Both societies will move forward with their respective annual meetings in 2026, which will now be held independently. Further details regarding these arrangements will be communicated shortly.

We remain mindful of all those affected during this difficult time and thank our members and partners for their understanding as both societies finalize their plans for 2026.

The Endourological Masterclass for Stone Disease (PCNL, FURS, ECIRS) was a hands-on, high-impact workshop led by experts Dr. Mohsen Elmekresh (Chair), Dr. Amr Elsawy, Dr. Yasser Saeedi, and Dr. Nilkamal Joshi.

💡 Delegates explored:
-> Surgical anatomy and access techniques for PCNL
-> Tips & tricks for renal puncture and exit strategies
-> A complete technical guide to FURS
-> Indications and procedural insights for ECIRS

Angie Rantell delivered a powerful talk on “The Essential Role of Nursing,” emphasizing how nurses are the backbone of continence care and service development. Her talk spotlighted global challenges, like funding and education gaps, while championing the proven impact of nursing and calling for international action to sustain and grow this vital role.

💡 Round Table Discussion:
Experts tackled “Occult Neurological Problems Which May Present to the Continence Specialist,” sharing real-world case vignettes and practical strategies. The discussion equipped clinicians with tools to recognize neurological red flags, streamline investigations, and integrate neuro-considerations into everyday continence care.

🔬 INUS Lecture:
A deep dive into “Neuromodulation in the Neurological Patient” explored the latest evidence for improving lower urinary tract function. This session reviewed key studies and clinical advances, highlighting how neuromodulation is transforming outcomes for neurogenic bladder dysfunction.
