Tremor is NOT always the first sign of Parkinson’s.
And waiting for it can cost you years.

Parkinson’s disease often whispers before it shouts.
Loss of smell.
Constipation.
Acting out dreams.
Subtle stiffness.
One arm not swinging while walking.
Fatigue that makes no sense.

Many people are told,
“You don’t have tremor, so it can’t be Parkinson’s.”

That’s simply wrong.
Early Parkinson’s doesn’t read textbooks.
And tremor may come late — or never.
Why does early detection matter?
Because earlier diagnosis means: • Better symptom control
• Smarter medication choices
• Planning ahead
• Slowing disability
• Preserving quality of life

Parkinson’s is not just a movement problem.
And tremor is only one piece of the puzzle.
If this video changes how one person seeks help earlier, it’s worth it.

Proud to share our work on Ramadan & Parkinson’s disease

For Muslim patients living with Parkinson’s disease worldwide, Ramadan fasting can be a major challenge, particularly with medication timing and symptom control.

We authored this patient-centric, evidence-based guidance through the Emirates Neurology Society to support patients, families, and clinicians in making safe, informed decisions during Ramadan—respecting both health and faith.

A small step toward more inclusive, culturally sensitive Parkinson’s care.

Can food change the way Parkinson’s behaves?
More than we once believed.

We’re learning that the gut and the brain talk to each other constantly. When the gut is sluggish or inflamed, Parkinson’s symptoms often worsen. When the gut is healthy, patients feel clearer, steadier, and more in control.

In the clinic, I see this every week.

A few simple principles make a real difference:

• A Mediterranean-style diet supports a healthier gut environment and steadier energy.
• Probiotics can help ease constipation and improve overall gut balance.
• Good gut health improves medication absorption — especially levodopa.
• Daily habits matter more than supplements. What you eat, how much water you drink, how regular your meals are — it all shapes how your brain functions.

Parkinson’s isn’t only about the brain. It’s a whole-body condition, and diet is one of the few tools fully in your hands.

If this helps even one person feel better tomorrow, it’s worth sharing.

Watch the video and pass it along — someone in your circle may need this today.

🧠 Happy to share some exciting news!
Our team at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi has published the first study from the Middle East on a condition called Hemifacial Spasm — a problem that causes one side of the face to twitch or spasm.
📊 We studied 174 patients over 10 years to understand how this condition affects people and how well treatments work.
💉 Botulinum toxin (Botox) helped 9 out of 10 patients feel better.
🧩 Surgery (Microvascular decompression) gave long-lasting relief to almost all who needed it.
This research helps doctors in our region treat facial spasms better and give patients more hope and comfort.
