Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced 2015 to be the “Year of Innovation”, Virginia International Private School (VIPS) opened its doors to the children of Abu Dhabi. VIPS is a school with its vision set firmly on the future. At VIPS we are committed to provide our children with the qualities and skills that will be essential for a citizen of the 21st century. Our school is a learning organization for each and every child and we carefully monitor and respond to their varied needs. Our teachers work collaboratively in a supportive environment to bring discovery and fun to the classroom. We will clarify our learning expectations, monitor individual student progress toward those expectations and provide appropriate supports that ensure positive learning outcomes. Through our commitment to the integration of the arts and music subjects with science, technology engineering and mathematics, we ensure that students become aware of the connectedness of the different disciplines that constitute a school’s curriculum. We do not forget either that a healthy body is as important as a healthy mind and the importance we place on physical activities, nutrition and sport complements the academic activities in which our students participate. Our commitment to the success of all students, means that we recognize the importance of maintaining a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment. We utilize a Responsive Classroom approach as a framework to build positive interpersonal relationships among students and faculty and to develop a collective responsibility for maintaining a positive school culture. VIPS encourages active parent and community participation in our daily activities. Opportunities to volunteer are numerous and vary based on parent interests, availability and classroom needs. Parents are encouraged to join us as guest readers, library support, or presenters during classroom-centered activities. Research and experience tells us that when parents are involved at school, the performance of all the children at school improves.

Building capacity through purposeful professional learning 💡 Our recent CPD sessions focused on two key priorities: exploring Microsoft Copilot to support teachers by freeing up time to focus on what matters most: high-quality teaching and learning; and strengthening the connection between Aldar values and teaching and learning. Together, these sessions reinforce our commitment to empowering teachers with the tools, mindset, and shared values needed to make a meaningful impact in the classroom.

VIPS Students Dive Into Cybersecurity Adventures at Khalifa University!

We are thrilled to celebrate 14 brilliant Grade 11 and 12 students from Virginia International Private School, all aspiring engineers and future cybersecurity experts, who successfully completed Khalifa University’s Technology Explorers Program – Cyber Security Adventures!

The adventure culminated in the Grand Challenge, a high-energy cybersecurity competition where students applied their skills in real-world scenarios—showcasing teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation. 🏆

We applaud our students’ dedication, curiosity, and passion as they take bold steps toward their STEM futures. 🌟 Their achievements reflect VIPS’s commitment to empowering learners through exploration, innovation, and excellence.

Two brilliant young achievers placing Virginia International Private School on the regional map with pride. They competed with the best in the Middle East and proved they belong among the top, and their achievement is not just a win but a statement of what our learners are capable of. Both students ranked among the Top 100 in the Middle East, showcasing their remarkable talent and determination. Congratulations to Shaikha Obaid Almarashda, ranked 19ᵗʰ in Grades 7–8, and to Fakhra Almazrouei, ranked 6ᵗʰ in Grades 9–10. We wish them the very best as they move to Round 2 and participate in the bootcamp in Dubai led by Harvard mentors and educators.

Their innovative ventures—ranging from unique matcha beverages and heritage-themed retail experiences to luxurious Oud fragrances and mobile cafés—captivated visitors and highlighted the talent and ambition of our future leaders in the UAE.
