Ear discharge should never be ignored. This symptom can have several causes and requires medical evaluation. The most common are:

🔹 Otitis Externa
Infection in the ear canal, often associated with water entering the ear (the famous “swimmer's ear”).

🔹 Otitis Media
Infection behind the eardrum, more common in children, which can cause severe pain, fever, and discharge.

🔹 Perforated Eardrum
This can occur after infections, trauma, or even improper use of objects to clean the ear.

⚠️ Warning: Discharge may be accompanied by pain, hearing loss, and even fever. Never try to treat it at home; seek evaluation by a specialist.

لا ينبغي تجاهل إفرازات الأذن أبدًا. قد يكون لهذا العرض أسباب متعددة ويتطلب تقييمًا طبيًا. أكثرها شيوعًا:

🔹 التهاب الأذن الخارجية

التهاب في قناة الأذن، غالبًا ما يرتبط بدخول الماء إلى الأذن (ما يُعرف بـ"أذن السباح").

🔹 التهاب الأذن الوسطى

التهاب خلف طبلة الأذن، وهو أكثر شيوعًا لدى الأطفال، وقد يسبب ألمًا شديدًا وحمى وإفرازات.

🔹 ثقب طبلة الأذن

قد يحدث هذا بعد العدوى أو الصدمات أو حتى الاستخدام غير السليم لأدوات تنظيف الأذن.

⚠️ تحذير: قد يصاحب الإفرازات ألم وفقدان سمع وحتى حمى. لا تحاول أبدًا علاجها في المنزل؛ استشر طبيبًا متخصصًا.

It is characterized by abnormal skin cells growth inside the middle ear, which can lead to recurrent infections, hearing loss, and even more serious complications.

Frequent headphones use, especially at high volumes, can cause noise-induced hearing loss, and worse: the damage is irreversible.

💡 Tips for listening safely:
1️⃣ Keep the volume below 60% of maximum capacity.
2️⃣ Use for no more than 60 minutes at a time and take breaks.
3️⃣ Choose headphones that block out sound well, so you don't need to turn the volume up too high.
4️⃣ Avoid sleeping with headphones on.

الاستخدام المتكرر لسماعات الرأس، وخاصةً عند مستويات صوت عالية، قد يُسبب فقدان السمع الناتج عن الضوضاء، والأسوأ من ذلك: أن الضرر لا رجعة فيه.

Not all perforations heal on their own.

Sometimes, even after months, they remain there, impairing hearing, promoting infections, and causing that uncomfortable feeling in the ear.

When this happens, there is a solution: tympanoplasty.

👉🏻 This is a surgical procedure to reconstruct the eardrum and, when necessary, repair the middle ear’s ossicles. It helps restore hearing, prevents new infections, and restores the ear's natural protection.

The procedure is safe, performed under anesthesia, and recovery is usually smooth.

✅ It is recommended when the perforation:
•persists for a long time,
•causes hearing loss,
•causes frequent infections.

If you have a perforation that has never closed, it is worth investigating. Talking to a specialist can be the first step to hearing better and more safely. 🙏🏼

لا تلتئم جميع الثقوب تلقائيًا.
