💕Who am I?
Hey there! I'm Carol, a dynamic and compassionate Clinical Hypnotherapist and Yoga
Teacher specialising in women's wellness.

I'm not just equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge; I've also walked the path
of personal transformation myself. Picture this: I was in my mid-thirties, caught up in the
corporate hustle, drowning in stress and overwhelm. And boy, did I find solace in
overeating! But something inside me snapped. I couldn't bear feeling physically drained,
mentally exhausted, and emotionally unfulfilled any longer.

I needed answers!
Why was I using food as an emotional crutch?
And guess what? After some soul-searching, I uncovered the truth—I was unhappy with
my work.
That realisation was a game-changer, sparking a fire within me to break free and build
my own business.
From that moment on, my body, mind, and soul experienced an exhilarating sense of
liberation. I was ready to embrace a life of transformative change, and now, I'm here to
guide you on your own incredible journey.​

Be addicted to real life.

Be addicted to hugging your friends and singing as loud as you can in the car.

Be addicted to the life that is happening all around you, the stranger that smiled at you, the flowers you pass by, the new food ~ all the things in life that bring you pure happiness ✨

We all overeat at times...⁠

Whether mindlessly or out of choice in the moment...⁠

And being able to provide ourselves with compassion is so important if we want to break the cycle of overeating and sustaining a healthy lifestyle. ⁠

🌟 The magic happens when you remove the judgement and you don't make it mean anything bad about you as a person.⁠

When you know that you have the power to choose, what you want to do based on how you want to feel.⁠

Sometimes that's making an informed choice to eat a bit more for example when you are enjoying a meal out with friends and you really fancy a dessert ⁠

Taking a moment to tune into your body and check in with yourself so you can make an informed decision of whether you want to eat more at that moment or not is what separates mindful from mindless overeating.⁠

The first comes from a place of choice whereas the latter one is filled with judgement and guilt. Often leading to more overeating to suppress that guilt. ⁠

Part of an improved food relationship is reconnecting to your internal cues and showing your body respect by honouring fullness, but also it's knowing that sometimes you will eat past fullness and that's also okay.

Your ability to move on from it without guilt is what actually contributes towards long term progress.⁠

Common overeating triggers👇

There are various factors that may trigger overeating depending on the person, their background and what is going on with them.

1. Physical & Mental Restrictions - chronic dieting or restricting certain food groups, food rules, skipping meals, labelling foods as bad.

2. Unmet needs - you are not recognising & meeting deeper needs, not living in line with your core values.

3. Affective Triggers - using food as a way to numb & avoid painful feelings, sadness, anxiety, stress, loneliness, anger etc.

4. Low self worth & self-criticism - not feeling good enough, beating yourself up, feeling like a failure, social comparisons.

5. Body preoccupation - experiencing body shame, picking your body apart, body checking.

6. Situational / in the moment triggers - procrastinating from a task, clothes shopping, diet talk.

We often feel that it is the food that is the problem or we blame ourselves for lacking the willpower
When in reality overeating is the expression of the problem

So get curious.....

What is the message that your body is trying to give you?

Understanding more about your underlying triggers will help you become more aware of the role that overeating is serving for you so you can start to meet your deeper needs moving forward and learn more effective strategies to respond to what is happening.
