Vaitarana vasti: The term vaitarana is made from Sanskrit word Vitaranam, which means go across, donate and to leave, which helps to expel out the vitiated doshas.
Ingredients of this special e***a are: Amalika (Emali) (Tamarindus indica Linn.), Guda, Saindhava,Dhanyamlam/ milk/gomutra , and medicated oil/Tila Taila (Sesamum indicum Linn.) in the proportion of 4:2:1:16.

As a whole, the qualities of Vaitarana Basti can be considered as Laghu, Ruksha, Ushna, Tikshna.

Most of the studies related Vaitarana Vasti focus on Amavata or Rheumatoid Arthitis.

More studies are required for its benefits observed in Pain conditions, infertility, Obesity, detoxification and hyperacidity.
