eCommerce is the new way of selling and buying anything, anywhere and anytime.

In the past patients were purchasing healthcare products from retail pharmacies and different vendors by searching and visiting them physically, it took lots of time to do that and lots of patients die across the globe due to that.

And in the case of specialty drugs, it's really tough to find it as these medicines are very rare to find and have very limited stocks across the globe, Yes you heard it right!

So how this can be solved, JollyRX is solving this by showing the real-time stock of these rare medicines from manufacturers and distributors across the globe. And managing this whole accessibility and availability for healthcare providers through our eCommerce marketplace.

We discussed this topic with our speaker Zakia in DUPHAT 2022 and got some great insights from her enormous experience in helping rare disease patients.

Challenges in speciality drug logistics!

Do you know why manufacturers and distributors hesitate to launch or supply any specialty drug in different countries?

Let me throw some light on a very simple language when a manufacturer or brand produces a product they require lots of research investment, then if they achieve any product to cure that disease they need to test that medication on animals and humans to get it approved by that country authorities who define the medical process and it is a very important part, after all, it's the matter of patients life.

Now if they do that they find patients as well, if there are patients in different countries they again need to prove that product will not harm anyone and need to take compliance certificates from those countries and assuming these things are done, also they have a challenge of supplying product to these countries maintaining cold storage, custom clearances and this costs a lot to these manufacturers, apart from this if they reach to that geography they will have different distributors then multiple sub-distributors/Stockists and at the end when medicine reaches to the patients it cost is so high that most of them can't afford it.

That's what we are trying to solve at JollyRX, we are managing all the logistics and custom clearances, payments etc and suppliers' products will be exposed to multi-geography without any hustle for them.

Searching and affording the high cost of speciality medications can feel insurmountable for many patients.
