Creating a soothing aromatherapy lotion for sore feet can provide relief and relaxation.

Here's a simple recipe to make your own at home:

Ingredients: 2% dilution for daily use
30 ml lotion / or carrier oil of your choice
Grapefruit essential oil 6 drops
Lavender essential oil 1 drop
Cedarwood essential oil 3 drops
Peppermint essential oil 2 drops

The peppermint essential oil in this lotion offers a cooling effect, while the lavender provides a calming and soothing aroma.

Customize this lotion to your liking, adjusting the essential oil quantities (or select some of your favorites) to achieve the desired aroma and effect.
Always do a patch test to check for any skin sensitivities, and discontinue use if you experience any adverse reactions.

Aromatherapy is a great natural way to reduce pain and inflammation and to accelerate the recovery process. Many essential oils are powerful remedies of muscle, and connective tissue with strong anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antispasmodic, cooling or warming properties while nourishing the skin.

Here are some gentle and effective ways to care for your skin after sun exposure:

After-Sun Aromatherapy Tips:

🍃 DIY Aloe Vera After-Sun Gel Recipe
3 tbsp pure aloe vera gel (store-bought or freshly extracted)
3 drops lavender essential oil (soothing)
1 drops frankincense essential oil (healing and anti-inflammatory)
1 tsp jojoba or calendula oil (optional, for added nourishment)

👉 Mix well and store in a glass jar in the fridge. Apply gently to sun-exposed skin as needed.

⚠️ Always patch test new blends, especially if you have sensitive skin.
Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
For serious sunburn or ongoing concerns, consult a qualified aromatherapist or healthcare provider.

Phototoxicity & Essential Oils

Some citrus oils can cause skin irritation when exposed to sunlight or UV light—this is called phototoxicity. It can lead to redness, swelling,

🧴 How to stay safe:
*Dilute well – Use 1 drop of oil per tsp of carrier oil (1%).
*Avoid sun – No sun exposure for 12–24 hrs after applying to skin.
*Know your oils – Distilled versions are usually safer!

✅ Non-phototoxic:
-Distilled: Lime (Citrus aurantifolia), Lemon (Citrus limon)
-Cold-pressed: Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis), Mandarin (Citrus reticulata), Tangerine (Citrus reticulata)

You’ll need:
1 cup white vinegar
1 cup distilled water
15 drops Lemon EO 🍋
10 drops Tea Tree EO 🌿
