Play is never "Just Play"
Team GiftedMind had demonstrated an interesting session, how play evolves in different stages.
🤸♂️Unoccupied Play (0–3 months)
The child may seem like they are not playing, but they are discovering their own body, movements, and surroundings.
🤸♂️Solitary Play (0–2 years)
The child plays independently. This stage builds focus, creativity, and self-reliance.
🤸♂️Onlooker Play (2 years+)
The child watches others play. Observation is powerful.
🤸♂️ Parallel Play (2–3 years)
Children play beside each other but not yet together. They are learning proximity, boundaries, and shared space.
🤸♂️Associative Play (3–4 years)
Interaction begins. Children share materials and talk, but play may not yet have structured goals.
🤸♂️Cooperative Play (4+ years)
Now comes teamwork — shared goals, role play, problem-solving, negotiation, and collaboration.
Takeaways: ☝️
Each stage is important.
Each stage has purpose.
Each child moves through them at their own pace.
