How to start meditating?
Meditation is a powerful tool for healing mind and body and for managing your reality. In the process of meditation, a person connects with his "Higher Self", releasing energy blocked for any reason.
Even few minutes of meditation per day will help you to stay in balance and feel better.
There are some steps which help you to start meditation even if you have never tried it:
- Start with the breath. Breathing deep slows the heart rate, relaxes the muscles, focuses the mind and is an ideal way to begin practice
- Stretch first. Stretching loosens the muscles and tendons allowing you to sit (or lie) more comfortably
- Meditate with Purpose. Beginners must understand that meditation is an ACTIVE process
- Notice frustration creep up on you. This is very common for beginners (not even for them) as we think “hey, what am I doing here” or “why can’t I just quiet my damn mind already”. When this happens, really focus in on your breath and let the frustrated feelings go
- Position. Try sitting, lying, eyes open, eyes closed, find your preferable position, because there is no the right one.
I always keep in mind my teacher's words: "Try to meditate even 8 seconds per day and you will see how your life is changing"
