Homeschooling your children.

It brings out the worst in us all.

Am I right?!

I’m dysregulated on the daily. But at least for now I’m in sunny Zanzibar so I can shake that off quite quickly with a dip in our pool 💦 ☀️ and a little mindset work.

We don’t know when schools will go back - if at all this term. So brace yourself mums, we’re in for a long journey.

My top tips ⬇️
• Be kind to yourself.
• Do the bare minimum.
• Ask the teachers for more support or guidance.
• Keep as much of a routine as possible (kids thrive off predictability)
• Be silly - if you have space for playfulness - to take the edge off
• Celebrate any effort - you’re incredible
• Talk it out with your friends bc all us mums are struggling to some degree
• Get your partner to share the load - it doesn’t just fall onto our laps
• Keep up your daily rituals - movement, mindset, spirituality, connection, nourishment, joy - that can’t stop

These past weeks have been a little wild.

Initially I was incredible calm. Very grounded.
Hopeful it would pass.
Carrying on “business as usual” - in a modified way.

But as the days have turned into weeks - and we are now over a month in with no further clarity on when life will return to normality, and home schooling extending which is just so difficult to manage with small children + work, my mindset has shifted.

There’s a low hum of overwhelm. Some worry in the air. A little frustration.

Because navigating uncertainty is HARD especially when our external world is unstable.

I’ve spent decades teaching people how to regulate. Find their calm. Their anchor. Their inner sense of safety.
And these past weeks have had me right there with my clients.

What I’ve learned living in Dubai during this regional crisis?
Regulation isn’t about never feeling the feelings.
It’s about knowing what to do when you do.

Thats the work. And I’m still doing it too 🤍

A lot of people are carrying a lot. And one of the first things to suffer is sleep.

And how hard is it to function when we are sleep deprived!? 😴
Especially those living across the UAE - we are on edge, we are being woken many evenings by the deafening alerts and our nervous system is dysregulated.

Even when adults try to shield them, children often pick up on worry, tension and uncertainty.

And the person supporting them through most of the day is often their nanny or caregiver.

That’s why I’m offering Nanny Reset Sessions. A gentle online 60 minute session designed to help caregivers support children’s emotional well-being during uncertain times.

We explore:
• how children process uncertainty
• how caregivers can stay calm and regulated
• simple tools to reassure and support children

Finding safety within.

A few taps.
A few deep, slow breaths.
Some quiet moments.
Pausing. Slowing down.
Shaking it out / releasing the energy.
Allowing your body to move on a way which feels releasing.

Most women are walking around dysregulated, but they don’t allow themselves the time or space to reset.

So it’s no wonder they are exhausted, wiped out, have less tolerance, are snappy, feel defeated, are disconnected with their dreams and goals.

This is the work I do.
Nervous system and emotional regulation.
Breaking away from limiting beliefs. Shaping new ways of showing up. Embodiment. So much juicy stuff to help you live your most gorgeous life!
