Dr Kathrin Föehe, our German Senior Paediatrician, explains the difference between the German vaccination schedule and the schedule we follow here in the UAE.

There are 3 main differences where the following vaccines are given in the UAE:
⁃ BCG: protection against Tuberculosis (given at birth)
⁃ Meningitis ACWY (can be given from 2 months old)
⁃ Hepatitis A: this is a food-borne virus which causes liver inflammation (given from 1 year old)

Otherwise, the UAE and German vaccination schedules are essentially the same.

We can discuss further and personalize the vaccination schedule as per individual need and risk during your appointment.
