An Auspicious & Cautious Time during Chandra Grahanam: The Lunar Eclipse

Timing

Eclipses are seen as powerful spiritual windows and believed to multiply the karmic effect of actions. Some ancient texts say positive and negative karma can be multiplied 10,000 times or even 100,000 times during an eclipse.
If you align, practices are amplified; if you neglect, imbalances can flare.

Therefore, practitioners avoid ordinary worldly activities and focus on Dharma practice.

Practices like japa (mantra chanting), tapas (austerity), dhyāna (meditation), and prāṇāyāma (breath control) are said to become 1000×, 10000x, 100000x more potent.

The macrocosmic eclipse is the universe enacting what happens microcosmically within us all the time. The Moon is linked to our body’s fluids, mind, and emotions. When its light is blocked during an eclipse, our body and energy feel the effect too.

Simple Practice One Can Do:

1. Preparation
- light meal preferably vegetables and no onions and garlic
- Set up a calm & clean space

2. During Eclipse
- Sit in silence. If you do not know any of the below, visualize the moon covered in shadow (symbolic of inner shadows surfacing). Imagine the light returning (integration, release, and renewal)
- Intention: “I release what no longer serves me.”
“I invite clarity, healing, and wisdom.”

🕉️ AUM Chanting
🙏 Sankalpa (Intention)

3. Closing
- Offer gratitude with hands in prayer.
- Drink water infused with tulsi, mint, or lemon (purification).
- If possible, bathe or wash face/hands as a symbolic cleansing.
- Rest in silence or gentle music for integration.

Most of all, offer everything for the good of all sentient beings!

✨If you are a practicing healer:
Practice your healing arts. Do a short sound bath for yourself using bowls, shruti box, or recorded tones, etc.
Record your voice chanting during the eclipse and use later in your healing sessions as “charged sound.”

- Each zodiac sign (Rāśi) gets subtle effects. If you have been initiated or empowered with your deity, practice! If you are simply interested, I can guide you with Upāsanā Devatās (deities) for support.

My first three months in the Philippines!
Finals done.
Two trimesters more in SMIC Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture.
Able to still do what I love the most.
Looking forward to seeing more friends and family and reconnecting with my roots!
