Get more out of your morning walk. I guess it was natures way to keep us alive, but since we don't have to hunt for food any longer calorie saving isn't really a priority any longer. Researchers say, our nervous systems do real-time calculations to figure out which step length and speed expend the least amount of energy. I asked some of my past clients if they could write a little about their experience working with me. I was overwhelmed with the incredible letters I received from everyone. Here's one from one of the hardest working clients I have ever had....

"I have had a personal trainer since I was 21 years old. To some, a personal trainer is luxury. Something of the celebrities. To me, a personal trainer is someone who has helped me walk right again after an accident. Yet there could be someone who can be more than a personal trainer. Someone who can be a mentor to your body. Our body no doubt but we sometimes fail to understand how to manage it better. A higher order to a personal trainer is a personal wellbeing mentor. After working out with many good personal trainers; I met a personal wellbeing mentor. I met Jenny in March 2014 via a mutual friend. What does a personal wellbeing mentor do?

1. RESULTS, RESULTS, RESULTS: I started at 77kgs and had love handles. By the end of the 10th session, I have lost
10kgs (22 pounds). Considering that I always had a personal trainer, Jenny has managed to find ways to help me
shed weight and shape up healthily. Jenny is result driven only because she cares!

2. STRONGER, BIGGER, BOLDER: With only 30 sessions, I have gotten physically STRONGER. My muscles were leaner. I was healthier and shaping up. My motivation to work harder in the gym has gone BIGGER too; because I was seeing results myself I was motivated to keep it up. I love to wear black because it made me look slimmer. After I had a leaner frame sculpted in I had gone BOLDER too. Moving from size UK 16 to UK10, anything looks good but having nothing on looks the best! While she ensures you get in shape with great eating and working out habits, to top it off with good body image confidence. Beyond your physical strength Jenny holistically develops your mental and emotional strength too, only because she cares.

3. EATING CLEAN: I have tried dieting. I have tried all kinds of diets. Nothing beats the clean eating way. I have learnt this healthy diet through Jenny. This is my lifestyle now. The “diet” doesn’t nag me or leaves me feeling guilty about eating. I have good food sources, at the correct quantity and the right timing that leaves my body fuelled and satiate all day. To Jenny, it isn’t just about doing the 20 push ups with a juice diet; but ensuring you are eating the food that you love so you can MAINTAIN the diet matters to her because she cares.

4. WITHOUT HER: Before Jenny left Malaysia, I was at 64kgs. I am 63kgs today. I am not ecstatic about the 1kg weight lost anymore. I am ecstatic that it has been since 3 months where I have NOT hired a personal trainer but CONSISTENLY managed my weight, my body and my diet independently. Put it differently she has taught me how to fish. I don’t go around having anxieties at the buffet line. I don’t need to punish myself at the gym the day after dinner with dessert with friends .Working with Jenny is a taking a life changing course with important lessons. She
teaches well only because she cares. I won’t guarantee you that you will love every class that Jenny has in store for you in the short term. Post recovering from numerous sore classes, I recovered from Chinese-Has-Flat-Derriere -Syndrome too. Most of it all, I would choose working with a knowledgeable professional who is passionate about her field and really cares about her clients! Thank you Jenny Maggard.

Nut dips…my new favourite healthy snack. I’ve been experimenting, trying to find healthy snacks with the right fat, carbs, and proteins, especially since I’m breast feeding. It’s so important that you keep up the calories and nutrients in order to keep your milk. A recent comment (from a Dr.) told my friend she wasn’t eating enough (this is not the part that bothers me) he then told her to eat steak and cheesecake to fatten up. REALLY?!! If you’d like to keep your breast milk and not your fat bum try these healthier options...

Do you ever go to the grocery store, load up on healthy tid bits...goji berries, flax seeds, quinoa...vow to be a healthy eater, then months later you find them in the cabinet only used once. The cliche "out of sight, out of mind" exists for a reason. I have started to put these kind of items out in plain site as a reminder to use them.
