It was a great honour to give a talk and interact with esteemed cardiologists during scientific session held by Cardiology Society of India UAE Chapter.

🧠🍽️ Food Preservatives & Cancer Risk – What Does Science Say?

A recent large study published in The BMJ and reported by The ASCO Post (Jan 2026) explored whether commonly used food preservatives are linked to cancer risk.

🔍 Key Takeaways:
✔️ Most preservatives showed NO association with cancer
⚠️ Some preservatives, when consumed frequently, were linked to a modest increase in certain cancers

📌 Preservatives associated with higher risk in the study:
• Nitrites & nitrates – processed meats

• Potassium sorbate – bakery & dairy products
