I was challenged by to post a black and white photo of myself for women empowerment.

I accepted the challenge because this year has been hard on everyone, particularly women, and if I could share the photo of every woman I know instead of this selfie, I would.

To all women whose life turned upside-down, and had to juggle between being a mother, daughter, wife, sister, nurse, teacher, housekeeper, chef, you name it!

To all women who struggle to maintain their mental health despite the heavy burden of stress, fear, worsening economic situation, uncertain future, being victims of violence or abuse, or being away from their families,

To all the strong and inspiring women out there, especially my mother,

Thank you for everything you do. I have nothing but love and admiration to you.

Remember that you are not alone. Please do reach out if you need help.

Throughout my career, I have consulted MANY children who were very LATE to start therapy or get the right diagnosis. Why? because "the family pediatrician said it is OK, things will be alright". I also consulted with children with the opposite scenario; referred by excellent pediatrician for evaluation and follow up.

In this LIVE with Dr. Rouba Abdennour we will be addressing your concerns and answering many questions including the below:
- what to expect from your visit to the pediatrician at each age?✅
- what should he/she be checking? what questions should he/she be asking?✅
- what are the questions you should ask him/her?✅
- what are the developmental areas he/she should be assessing?✅
- what if you disagree with his/her point of view?....✅

Feel free to drop all the questions that you would like us to answer!!!👇🏻

𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 🍼 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐮𝐩 🥛
A challenging yet important step for bottle-fed babies.

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍? The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends weaning off the bottle before 18 months of age.

𝐖𝐇𝐘? Children using bottles for a prolonged time and beyond 18 months old are more likely to develop tooth decay or early childhood caries. In addition, bottles may encourage the child to consume more milk than he/she needs, leading to less solid food consumption and inadequate nutrient intake.

𝐇𝐎𝐖?
1. Choose a stress-free time to start the transition. The arrival of a new sibling or major changes at home may not be a good time.
2. Communicate your decision to stop the bottle to all the child’s caregivers. Consistency is key.
3. Switch to regular cups. Sippy cups (or training cups) may be used as a transition as they are useful to minimize spills, but their use should be limited to the learning period. Stop them as soon as the child is able to use an open cup, usually by 2 years of age or earlier if he/she is ready.
4. Start by eliminating the midday bottle, and be patient as it may take the child a few weeks to figure out how to properly use the cup. Then proceed to eliminate the morning bottle. The bedtime bottle may be the most difficult to give up, so save it for last.
5. The weaning process may be stressful, so spend extra time cuddling and playing with your child. Be a positive role model and drink from a cup in front of him/her.

Remember that weaning off the bottle is a gradual process. Be patient and don’t expect magic overnight ✨

Everyone knows when to bring their children to the doctor when they are sick.
However, yearly well-child visits to the pediatrician are as important. This is when you and the doctor get to focus on your child's overall wellness and growth, prevent problems and detect them early on.
Make sure to prepare all the questions that you and your child may have, and to bring your child's vaccination and growth record.

For appointments, please dial: 04 378 955
