The combined PET/CT scan produces 3D images of anatomical structures, soft tissue and metabolical active regions detecting cellular changes in organs and tissues earlier than CT and MRI scans, which actively allows for a more accurate diagnosis.

The PET/CT is the most useful test for determining the stage of cancer. It is more accurate than any other test in finding local or metastatic tumors.
