بمناسبة اليوم العالمي للسمع، نسلط الضوء على قصة الطفل إيفاز، البالغ من العمر 22 شهراً، والذي يعد أول طفل في دولة الإمارات تُجرى له زراعة قوقعة ذكية، وذلك بعد تشخيصه بفقدان سمع حاد في الأذنين.

وبفضل الرعاية الطبية المتخصصة التي تلقاها في «مستشفى الجليلة للأطفال»، بدأ إيفاز يُظهر
تحسناً ملحوظاً في قدرته على السمع والنطق، في خطوة منحته وأسرته الأمل في القدرة على التواصل والنمو بشكل طبيعي، بما يجسد التزامنا بعهد: الأطفال أولاً.

On World Hearing Day, we share the story of Ifaz, aged 22months and the first child in the UAE to receive a smart cochlear implant following his diagnosis with severe hearing loss in both ears.

Thanks to the specialized care he received at Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, Ifaz has begun to show remarkable progress in his hearing and speech development, a milestone that has given him and his family renewed hope for communication and growth, reflecting our commitment to the Children Come First promise.

وُلدت الطفلة ميا وهي تعاني من فقدان سمع متقدم، وبفضل التدخل المبكر والدعم المستمر خضعت لعملية زراعة القوقعة السمعية، التي شكّلت نقطة تحوّل في رحلتها، وأتاحت لها فرصة اكتشاف الأصوات والتواصل مع العالم من حولها.
في مستشفى الجليلة للأطفال، نلتزم برعاية ودعم مرضانا الصغار وأسرهم في كل مرحلة من رحلتهم العلاجية، وفاءً بعهدنا: المريض أولاً.

Mia was born with severe hearing loss. Through early intervention and ongoing support, she received cochlear implant surgery that became a turning point in her journey, allowing her to experience sound and connection with the world around her.

بحضور سموّ الشيخ أحمد بن سعيد آل مكتوم، رئيس مجلس إدارة «دبي الصحية»، وسموّ الشيخ منصور بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، نائب رئيس مجلس إدارة «دبي الصحية»، قرع الطفل ليو، جرس الأمل معلناً نهاية رحلته العلاجية مع السرطان. لحظة إنسانية جسّدت معنى الأمل وقوة الإرادة، وعكست التزام «مؤسسة الجليلة»، ذراع العطاء لـ«دبي الصحية»، بدعم المرضى في جميع مراحل العلاج.

In the presence of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Health Board of Directors, and H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Health Board of Directors, young Leo rang the Bell of Hope, marking the end of his cancer treatment journey.

A heartfelt moment that reflected courage and resilience, and embodied the commitment of Al Jalila Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Dubai Health, to supporting patients and their families throughout every step of their journey.

On International Childhood Cancer Day, we marked a truly special graduation for our young patients, honouring how far they have come. With their families beside them and the care team who supported them throughout, Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital was filled with hope, love and joy.
