Ugadi/ Gudi Padwa/ Samvatsarādi (Chitra Shukla Pratipada, Hindu Lunisolar New Year) Tue 9th April will commence the Year of Krodhī

Krodhī (क्रोधी) refers to the 38th of the sixty-year cycle of Jupiter, according to the Bṛihatsaṃhitā (chapter eight), an encyclopedic Sanskrit work written by Archarya Varāhamihira mainly focusing on the science of ancient Indian astronomy (Jyotiṣa).
Accordingly, Varahamihira states “.... during the third year (this year Krodhi) they will feel exceedingly miserable and during the last two years they will be neither happy nor miserable; but in the year Parābhava there will be fear from fire and suffering from weapons and from disease; the Brāhmins and cows will also suffer”. ~ Brihat Samhita
April 2024 unfolds under the mantle of the Krodhi Samvatsara, a term derived from the Sanskrit word "Krodhi," denoting anger, lack of self-control, or an inclination towards evil.
This year is poised to be characterized by its fervent energy and tempestuous nature.
Amidst the whirlwind of emotions, the Krodhi year serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of patience and restraint.
It underscores the imperative of fostering understanding and empathy to mitigate conflicts and nurture harmonious relationships.
Yet, within its turbulent embrace, lies the potential for growth and transformation, as individuals navigate the intricacies of their emotional landscapes.
In the cosmic dance of fate, the Krodhi Samvatsara (Hindu Solar New Year) serves as a potent reminder of the ebb and flow of existence.
Through its trials and tribulations, it beckons individuals to delve deeper into the recesses of their souls, emerging stronger and wiser in the face of adversity.
