Limit “Doom-scrolling”: The 24-hour news cycle and social media algorithms often prioritize alarmist content, which can worsen PTSD symptoms. Set strict limits (e.g., 30 minutes daily) and stick to reputable sources.
Ground Yourself in the “Now”: Use grounding techniques like the 5-4-3-2-1 exercise (noticing five things you see, four you can touch, etc.) to remind your body that, in this exact second, you are safe.
