🦵Varicose veins and spider veins are vein conditions with differences:
Appearance:
Varicose veins: Large, swollen, twisted, often blue or dark purple.
Spider veins: Smaller, thin, red, blue, or purple, resembling spider webs.
Location:
Varicose veins: Commonly in legs and feet, also elsewhere.
Spider veins: Mainly on legs and face, thighs, calves, ankles.
Symptoms:
Varicose veins: Aching, heaviness, discomfort, swelling, skin changes, ulcers.
Spider veins: Usually symptomless, may cause aching or burning.
Causes:
Varicose veins: Weakened valves, blood pooling, increased pressure.
Spider veins: Genetics, hormones, pregnancy, obesity, prolonged standing/sitting, sun exposure.
Treatment:
Varicose veins: Lifestyle changes, minimally invasive procedures, surgery.
Spider veins: Sclerotherapy, laser therapy, IPL therapy, cosmetic focus.
