This workshop introduces the foundations of Ashtanga Yoga. Explore this beautiful dynamic, structured practice that links breath with movement to build strength, flexibility, and focus.
It’s for anyone curious to learn Ashtanga yoga or better their understanding of the method if already practicing.
What you’ll learn is the importance and application of Trishthana method: breath-movement synchronisation, gaze/drishti, and some of the fundamental poses of the primary series.
Expect a strong, energizing session that will deepen your understanding and confidence in this powerful practice.
Meet Sonakshi Dhamija, founder of The Shala Delhi. She has been practicing yoga in Mysore since 2015 under the tutelage of R. Sharath Jois, the lineage holder of Ashtanga Yoga.
What started as a brief break from studies turned out to be a life-long journey of self-exploration for her.
Sonakshi’s journey reflects the transformative power of yoga. Authorised by her teacher at 25, she emphasizes creating positive environments, self-acceptance, and the importance of patience and consistency in practice. Passionate about breaking stereotypes, she inspires others to embrace yoga’s physical and mental benefit.
