In 1953 Soshana worked in Paul Gaugin's former studio (and previous Alfons Mucha's) in the Rue de la Grande Chaumière, Montparnasse.
Friendship with sculptor Alberto Giacometti.

Isaku Yanaihara regularly sat for Alberto Giacometti. Having come to France in 1954 to study philosophy at the Sorbonne, he met the artist for the first time in November 1955 for an interview. He quickly became the model for several portraits in 1956, then during his stays in 1957, 1959, 1960 and 1961.

Soshana Afroyim (1 settembre 1927 - 9 dicembre 2015 ) è stata una pittrice austriaca del periodo del Modernismo . Soshana era una artista a tempo pieno e viaggiava spesso, esibendo il suo lavoro a livello internazionale. Durante i suoi viaggi, ha interpretato molte personalità famose e la sua arte sviluppata in diverse direzioni. La sua opera d'arte del primo periodo era in gran parte di natura naturalistica , mostrando paesaggi e ritratti . In seguito il suo stile si sviluppò verso l'arte astratta , fortemente influenzata dalla calligrafia asiatica.

Parigi 1952-1954
Dopo il trasferimento a Parigi, Soshana visse e lavorò nell'ex studio di André Derain . Alla fine si trasferì in un altro studio a Impasse Ronsin, vicino a Brâncuşi Diventò molto vicina all'artista, che descrisse come amandola come una figlia. Più tardi, ha vissuto in un altro studio che era prima di proprietà di Gauguin .
Soshana ha lottato finanziariamente come una artista a tempo pieno a Parigi. Lo ha descritto come un "Bittersweet Time". Conosceva gli artisti Kupka , Auguste Herbin , Ossip Zadkine , César , Pignon , Bazaine , Max Ernst , Yves Klein , Alexander Calder , Wifredo Lam , Sam Francis , Jean-Paul Sartre , Affandi , Lain Bangdel e Marc Chagall . Considerò Alberto Giacometti uno dei suoi migliori amici.
Nel 1953, Soshana incontrò il gallerista di Zurigo Max G. Bollag, che divenne un importante promotore del suo lavoro.
A Parigi, Soshana ha avuto diverse mostre nella Galleria André Weil e Salon d'Automne , nel Salon des Réalités Nouvelles e nel Salon de Mai , dove ha incontrato Pablo Picasso per la prima volta. La invitò a fargli visita nella sua villa a Vallauris e ne disegnò un ritratto nel 1954.
