Dear Nilaya House friends,

Nilaya House will be closing its doors on April 26.

It has been a beautiful journey together and we are truly grateful for your presence, dedication and support over this time.

Please make the most of the remaining weeks of practice with us.

From now until closing, we will continue offering classes, and new passes will be limited to 5-class packs and drop-ins only.

Please note, Ashtanga Yoga Dubai will continue at another location, soon to be advised.

One of the most noticeable things about a Mysore room is the calming silence.

While verbal instructions are given when needed, particularly for beginner students, students are primarily guided through touch.

Touch is a powerful language. When offered with sensitivity and presence, touch can gently down-regulate the nervous system.

It gives a sense of safety, grounding the body and quieting mental chatter. The breath softens, effort reorganises, and the practitioner can move from doing into sensing.

Sometimes the most powerful adjustment is the one that communicates: you’re safe here.

We keep stumbling over the same idea, that yoga āsana is somehow not spiritual. As if the body is separate. As if the material and the sacred live in different worlds.

Every breath and every sensation is prāṇa in motion, awareness expressing itself through form.

Hanumanāsana, reminds us of that great leap across the illusion of separation. When we embody this bridge, the posture can become more than a stretch, it becomes a remembering. There is no “just physical.” There is no “only spiritual.”

Practice then is not about transcending the body, but dissolving the idea that you ever could.
