Do you always need surgery for endometriosis?
The short answer: No — not everyone does.

Endometriosis treatment is highly individualized. While many women improve with medications or hormonal therapy, there are specific situations where surgery can be the best option.

👉 You may need endometriosis surgery if:
• Severe pelvic pain not improving with medication
• Pain affecting daily life, work, or sleep
• Deep endometriosis involving bowel, bladder, or nerves
• Ovarian cysts (endometriomas)
• Difficulty conceiving or infertility concerns
• Suspected adhesions or organ involvement

But here’s what matters most 👇
Surgery is not the first step — it’s a carefully planned decision.

✔️ Based on your symptoms
✔️ Detailed imaging (ultrasound/MRI)
✔️ Fertility plans
✔️ Previous treatments

👩‍⚕️ Always consult an experienced endometriosis specialist and, ideally, a multidisciplinary team — especially for complex or deep disease

Because the goal is not just removing endometriosis…
It’s improving your quality of life, long-term 💛

Honored to participate in the Endometriosis India Conference, where I had the opportunity to present on “Endometriosis in Adolescents.”

The conference was an excellent platform for meaningful discussions and exchange of ideas on improving the diagnosis and management of endometriosis. It was inspiring to engage with leading experts and colleagues who are deeply committed to advancing women’s health and endometriosis care.

My sincere appreciation to Dr. Vimee and the entire organizing team for putting together such a well-organized and insightful conference.

It was also wonderful to reconnect with friends and colleagues who share the same passion for improving care for women living with endometriosis.

✨ My passion lies equally in gynecological scanning and minimally invasive surgery. I strongly believe in the concept of a “surgeon–sonologist” — because accurate diagnosis is the foundation for delivering precise and individualized surgical treatment, especially for patients with endometriosis.

Even after performing pelvic scans for nearly 16 years, the recent EEL course gave me valuable new perspectives. The practical tips on diagnosing superficial and nerve endometriosis — areas that often remain a diagnostic challenge with ultrasound or MRI — were especially enlightening.

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to the EEL faculty for sharing their expertise and helping me further sharpen my sonology skills to better serve my patients.
