Let's discuss about a very common and very important test in second trimester that is GTT or glucose tolerance test.

What is GTT?
GTT stands for Glucose Tolerance Test, a medical test used to assess how your body processes glucose (sugar). It helps diagnose diabetes, pre-diabetes, and gestational diabetes in pregnant women.

How it is done?
Now to do the test we ask the patient to come in the morning fasting of at least eight hours.
We take a fasting blood sample, then we give you a glucose drink of 75 gram.
We take a blood sample after one hour and after two hours of the drink.
So in total, we are drawing three blood samples.
The value of fasting should be
< 95, after fasting
< 180 after 1 hr
