Non-carious lesions are tooth surface loss that occurs without decay, involving abrasion, erosion, and abfraction.

👉🏻 Abrasion: Caused by mechanical wear, often from improper brushing or abrasive toothpaste. It appears as V-shaped notches near the gingiva.

👉🏻 Erosion: Chemical wear due to acidic exposure, often from acidic foods, beverages, or stomach acid (GERD). It results in smooth, shiny surfaces on the teeth.

👉🏻 Abfraction: Caused by excessive occlusal forces leading to micro-fractures in the enamel near the gingiva, often presenting as wedge-shaped lesions.
