Afghanistan FETP launched the second round/phase of mentorship workshop for Public Health Empowerment Program for Polio and EPI Officers…

3rd January 2026 – The workshop started on Saturday and will continue for a week. During this workshop mentors will learn about mentorship, mentor`s competencies, effective communication, conflict management, and field assignments of PHEP-PEO program through slides, case studies, and practice.

On December 21, 2025, the EMPHNET Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) Board of Directors convened virtually for its second biannual meeting, bringing together FETP Directors from across the Eastern Mediterranean Region and other priority countries, as well as the EMPHNET team. The meeting provided an important platform to review progress across country programs, address shared challenges, and provide strategic guidance to strengthen the sustainability, quality, and impact of FETPs across the region.

عقد مجلس إدارة برنامج تدريب الوبائيات الميدانية التابع لشبكة امفنت في 21 ديسمبر 2025 اجتماعه النصف سنوي الثاني افتراضيا، بمشاركة مديري برامج التدريب من مختلف بلدان إقليم شرق المتوسط وعدد من البلدان ذات الأولوية، إلى جانب فريق امفنت. وقد شكل الاجتماع منصة مهمة لاستعراض التقدم المحقق على مستوى البرامج القطرية، ومناقشة التحديات المشتركة، وتقديم توجيه استراتيجي يعزز استدامة برامج تدريب الوبائيات الميدانية وجودتها وأثرها في الإقليم.

During the FETP Board of Directors meeting for 2025, the FETP Afghanistan leadership provided updates on the important activities and achievements during 2025 and a glance at the main activities before 2025...

Today, the EMPHNET FETP Board of Directors convened virtually for the year 2025, with participation from the FETP Directors across the Eastern Mediterranean Region and the EMPHNET team.

The meeting focused on workforce development and reviewed progress across country programs, including achievements, challenges, and future plans. Discussions also addressed ways to strengthen support to FETPs beyond training, with emphasis on technical support, advocacy, and sustainability.

Participants also discussed learning opportunities available through accredited programs offered by the International Academy of Public Health (IAPH), reinforcing EMPHNET’s continued commitment to supporting FETPs across the region.

عقد مجلس إدارة برامج تدريب الوبائيات الميدانية في امفنت اليوم اجتماعا افتراضيا لعام 2025، بمشاركة مديري برامج تدريب الوبائيات الميدانية من مختلف بلدان إقليم شرق المتوسط، إلى جانب فريق امفنت.

ركز الاجتماع على جهود تنمية القوى العاملة في مجال الصحة العامة، حيث جرى استعراض مستوى التقدم في البرامج القطرية، بما في ذلك أبرز الإنجازات والتحديات والخطط المستقبلية.

كما تناولت النقاشات سبل تعزيز الدعم المقدم لبرامج تدريب الوبائيات الميدانية بما يتجاوز التدريب، مع التركيز على الدعم الفني، والمناصرة، وضمان الاستدامة.

وناقش المشاركون أيضا فرص التعلم المتاحة من خلال البرامج المعتمدة التي تقدمها الأكاديمية الدولية للصحة المجتمعية (أياف)، بما يؤكد التزام امفنت المتواصل بدعم برامج تدريب الوبائيات الميدانية في مختلف أنحاء الإقليم.

فراغت ۲۹ تن از کارمندان مسلکی وزارت صحت عامه از برنامه توانمند سازی صحت عامه

۲۸ عقرب سال ۱۴۰۴ – به تعداد ۲۹ تن از کارمندان مسلکی وزارت صحت عامه اعم از مرکز و ولایات بعد از ختم آموزش های داخل خدمت برای مدت شش ماه از برنامه توانمند سازی صحت عامه فارغ شدند. این کارمندان که در بخش های ریشه کنی پولیو، معافیت کتلوی و سرویلانس امراض در کابل و ۱۵ ولایت دیگر مصروف ارایه خدمات اند، در جریان این شش ماه آموزش های تیوری را طی ورکشاپ ها فرا گرفته و کار های ساحوی را برای تقویت یادگیری های خویش انجام دادند. در محفلی که روی این منظور در وزارت صحت عامه برگزار شده بود، معین پالیسی و انکشاف صحت وزارت صحت عامه، روسا، آمرین، نماینده های رسانه ها و سایر ادارات مربوطه اشتراک داشتند و سخنرانی های همه جانبه روی اهمیت این برنامه، چگونگی شریک کردن دانش و آموخته ها و غیره موارد صورت گرفت. محفل با توزیع تقدیر نامه ها و اسناد فراغت و دعای برای توفیق فارغان برای خدمت بهتر و بیشتر اختتام یافت.

د لرم ۲۸، ۱۴۰۴ - د مرکز او ولایتونو څخه د عامې روغتیا وزارت ۲۹ مسلکي کارکوونکي د شپږو میاشتو د خدمت دننه روزنې بشپړولو وروسته د عامې روغتیا د پیاوړتیا پروګرام څخه فارغ شول. دا کارکوونکي، چې په کابل او ۱۵ نورو ولایتونو کې د پولیو د له منځه وړلو، کتلوی واکسیناسیون او د ناروغیو د سرویلانس په برخو کې د خدماتو په وړاندې کولو بوخت دي، د دې شپږو میاشتو په اوږدو کې یې د ورکشاپونو له لارې نظري روزنه ترلاسه کړه او د خپلې زده کړې د پیاوړتیا لپاره یې ساحوي کار ترسره کړ. په هغه غونډه کې چې د عامې روغتیا وزارت کې د دې هدف لپاره جوړه شوې وه، د عامې روغتیا وزارت د پالیسۍ او روغتیا پراختیا مرستیال، رییسانو، مدیرانو، د رسنیو استازو او نورو اړوندو څانګو ګډون کړی و، او د دې پروګرام اهمیت، د پوهې او زده کړې شریکولو څرنګوالي او نورو مسلو په اړه ویناوې وشوې. دا غونډه د ستاینې لیکونو او د فراغت سندونو په ویشلو سره پای ته ورسیده، او د فارغانو لپاره د ښه او لا ښه خدمت کولو لپاره د بریالیتوب دعا وشوه.

Graduation of MoPH`s 29 professional staff from Public Health Empowerment Program

November 19, 2025 – 29 professional employees of the Ministry of Public Health, both from the center and the provinces, graduated from the Public Health Empowerment Program (PHEP-PEO) after completing six months of in-service training. These employees, who are engaged in providing services in the areas of polio eradication, expanded program on immunization, and disease surveillance in Kabul and 15 other provinces, received theoretical training during these six months through workshops and conducted field work to reinforce their learning. In a ceremony held for this purpose at the Ministry of Public Health, the Deputy Minister for Policy and Health Development of the Ministry of Public Health, directors, managers, media representatives, and other relevant departments participated, and comprehensive speeches were made on the importance of this program, how to share knowledge and learnings, and other relevant issues. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of letters of appreciation and graduation certificates, and prayers for the graduates' success in serving better and further.

AFETP PHEP-PEO residents of second cohort attended an exclusive session on APMIS

November 13, 2025 – Residents of Public Health Empowerment Program second cohort attended a session on Afghanistan Polio Management Information System (APMIS) facilitated by CDC technical staff in National Emergency Operations Center for Polio Eradication in Kabul. This session was conducted for three hours, during which the residents learnt through presentations and practice. Such sessions aim to expose residents with new experiences and promote mutual understanding and knowledge sharing.

📣A Milestone Achievement for Afghanistan FETP!

EMPHNET congratulates the Afghanistan Field Epidemiology Training Program, its Program Director, Dr. Tajmalook SAMIM; Technical Advisor, Dr. Khwaja Mir Islam Saeed; and the Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health for receiving international accreditation from TEPHINET. This remarkable achievement represents a significant milestone in the history of FETPs across the Eastern Mediterranean Region, marking Afghanistan as the fifth country in the region to gain this recognition, following Pakistan, Morocco, Iraq, and Egypt FETPs.

إن هذا الإنجاز المرموق هو علامة فارقة في مسيرة برامج تدريب الوبائيات الميدانية ضمن إقليم شرق المتوسط، إذ أصبحت أفغانستان البلد الخامس في الإقليم الذي يحظى بهذا الاعتراف، بعد كلٍّ من باكستان والمغرب والعراق ومصر.
