About the Free Clinic Walkathon

The Free Clinic at English Harbour will have its 1st Walkathon on Saturday, March 17, 2018, beginning at the Free Clinic at English Harbour.

The Free Clinic at English Harbour has been serving the English Harbour, Falmouth, and Piccadilly areas as a result of the government clinic in the area closing over six years ago. In its first year, the clinic had 447 patient visits. The patients who have been treated have come from almost every part of the island and all were treated free of cost. The clinic has an Electronic Medical Record System and a data collecting system. Valuable statistics will soon be provided in our published annual report. Every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6:00 – 9:00 service is provided by a physician from Antigua and two nurses. Students from the University of Health Sciences Antigua hold administrative positions such as Clinic Coordinators, Data Coordinators, Education Coordinators, etc.

Our Mission is to provide quality health care and health education to persons in need. We aim to promote a spirit of service and volunteerism within our community while providing leadership and training opportunities for our students. Ultimately, we hope that patients will be empowered to be active participants in their health care.
