💙 Closing Autism Awareness Month with Purpose

As we come to the end of Autism Awareness Month, we move beyond awareness into action.

Through this FREE Retreat for Parents & Caregivers of Children with Autism, we are creating space for learning, support, and community—while ensuring children are seen, supported, and included.

We are deeply grateful to our partners, supporters, and the Mill Reef Fund for helping make this vision possible.

The work continues. The conversations continue. The support continues.

Because every family deserves to feel supported. 💙

We believe psychoeducation is key to destigmatizing mental health.

ABHC’s Scholarship Programme to Fund Youth Mental Health Care and Education is designed to equip young people and their parents with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to normalize conversations about mental health, seek appropriate care, and offer compassionate peer support to those who may be struggling.

Here’s a quick guide to help you better understand “Who’s Who in Mental Health.”

While all mental health professionals play an important role, it’s helpful to know who to contact when you need:
• A psychosocial assessment
• A mental health diagnosis
• Psychological or psychiatric testing
• Psychotropic medication

FACT: You can work with a Counselling Psychologist, Licensed Psychologist, and a Psychiatrist—yes, all three can be part of your care team.

Antigua and Barbuda’s Ministry of Health remains committed to ensuring that the voices of children and adolescents help shape the final Mental Health Bill—moving toward a more integrated, people-centered, and community-based system of care grounded in a life-course approach to mental wellness.

As this important work continues, community members and healthcare professionals can access support through the Accreditation Board, which facilitates quality assurance in tertiary education in Antigua and Barbuda: http://abnab.edu.ag
