Mill Academy Celebrates Its 2nd Anniversary with the Theme: “Growing Stronger, Reaching Higher”
Mill Academy proudly celebrated its second anniversary on Monday, November 17th, 2025, with a vibrant and heartfelt program that brought together students, teachers, parents, and community partners. The ceremony reflected Mill Academy’s growth, unity, and dedication to nurturing well-rounded learners in a safe, loving, and structured environment.
This year’s anniversary event, guided by the theme “Growing Stronger, Reaching Higher,” showcased the talent, discipline, and joy of Mill Academy’s student body while also highlighting the powerful partnerships between the school and its families.
The program was expertly chaired by Mistress of Ceremonies, Ms. Paulette Edwards, who guided the morning’s proceedings with warmth and professionalism.
The celebration featured a rich line-up of presentations, beginning with an Opening Prayer by Ms. Neketia Spencer, setting a reflective and uplifting tone for the morning.
A touching and beautifully delivered poem, “Two Years Strong,” was performed by Mrs. Julia Nathaniel, capturing the resilience and progress of the school since its founding.
Students shone brightly throughout the program with:
- A Musical Rendition showcasing their developing skills
- A lively and expressive Dance Presentation
- A charming and confident Dramatic Presentation between staff and students which drew enthusiastic applause from the audience
These presentations reflected not only the children’s creativity, but also the commitment of teachers who guide them daily.
Parent Testimonials: Voices of Trust and Transformation
Two impactful parent testimonials reinforced the deep level of trust and partnership felt within the Mill Academy community.
Testimonial 1 – Ms. Sasha Potter
PTA President Ms. Sasha Potter delivered a powerful message about her personal experience in choosing Mill Academy for her son, Zavii. She described a transformative moment during his assessment when Principal Kisma Panthier-Jn Pierre told her:
“Sasha, you are his mother. You cannot give your power away.”
Ms. Potter spoke openly about the emotional shift this created and affirmed her decision to make Mill Academy her family’s school of choice—one she says she has “absolutely no regrets” about.
Testimonial 2 – Ms. Silvia Cozzi
A second heartfelt testimonial was offered by Ms. Silvia Cozzi, who shared that she had been seeking a school environment that was different from the traditional setting. She explained that Mill Academy first caught her attention through its social media presence, particularly the unique programs featured online, such as the agriculture program.
She expressed that the school’s strong values, clear sense of purpose, and the leadership of the Principal made a strong impression on her. Ms. Cozzi also highlighted that the small size of the school was a perfect fit for her daughter, who has settled in beautifully.
She concluded by saying that her daughter loves the school — and she loves it as well — affirming that choosing Mill Academy was the right decision for her family.
Principal’s Address: A Vision Rooted in Love and Structure
Principal Kisma Panthier-Jn Pierre delivered an inspiring address, expressing gratitude to parents, teachers, and supporters while reaffirming the Academy’s mission:
“Mill Academy is built on love, structure, and a deep understanding of the whole child. As we celebrate two years, we honor every parent, teacher, and student who continues to build this village with us.”
Her message emphasized continued growth, strengthened values, and a future filled with promise.
PTA President’s Remarks: Working Together for a Stronger Community
During her official PTA address, Ms. Potter also highlighted the success of the recent Independence Food Fair, which raised over EC$4,000 toward campus improvements, including paving the parking lot, creating additional recreational space, and addressing drainage challenges at the school’s entrance.
“Every bit of help from parents, friends, and sponsors makes a lasting impact,” she noted. “We are here to listen, collaborate, and build this community together.”

As Mill Academy enters its third year, the school remains committed to expanding student programs, enhancing infrastructure, and strengthening its close-knit partnerships with families—continuing the journey of “Growing Stronger, Reaching Higher.”
