I would like to extend a huge thank you to Mirabelle West of Bahay Bistro for the beautiful space as well as the delicious food and drinks that kept us fueled all night.

On March 8th, 2025, I had the incredible privilege of being recognized as a 2025 RISE Awardee in the STEM Innovator category during the International Women’s Dat 2025 service at the Pro-Cathedral of St. Mary.

To be celebrated among such inspiring women and organizations on International Women’s Day was truly a moment I will cherish forever. Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and believed in me along this journey. This award is not just mine—it belongs to all the women who dare to dream, innovate, and break barriers in STEM and beyond! 💜💚

Last evening, HE the Governor Julia Crouch hosted a Paint and Sip event as a way to mark International Women's Week.

The evening was a wonderful opportunity for some of the women in Anguilla who lead, inspire and make a difference in communities across Anguilla to celebrate in a creative way the the important role women play in society.

Thanks goes out to Gender Affairs Anguilla for the work that has gone into making this week a fitting series of events leading up to International Women's Day on Saturday 8 March.

INTRODUCING 2025 RISE AWARDEE DR. TRISH RICHARDSON – STEM INNOVATOR

With a passion for oral health awareness, Dr. Trish Richardson continues to make strides in the field of dentistry in Anguilla. As a child, she experienced firsthand the implications of poor dental health and vowed to enter the field of dentistry to assist children and young people in achieving, improving and maintaining oral health.

In 2017, Dr. Richardson at the age of 19, she embarked on her studies as the first Anguillan to enroll in the Doctor of Dental Surgery Programme at The University of the West Indies St. Augustine, Trinidad. Despite challenges experience with the COVID-19 pandemic, she pushed through, excelled and actualized goals as a student, an activist and an author during the pandemic.

Dentistry with Trish- a social media platform was launched in 2020 on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. Dr. Richardson perceived this as an effective medium to reach children and young people and to share evidence-based insights and foster a deeper understanding of oral care. These platforms have allowed her to engage with a wide audience, including aspiring dental professionals and individuals seeking to improve their oral health.

Since 2020, this educational content has reached thousands of viewers. She also became an author and published her first book “Tia Goes to the Dentist” in 2021 to be used as a tool to promote oral health awareness whether it may be in schools or at home.
After completing her studies in 2024, Dr. Richardson continues her community engagement through various awareness sessions throughout schools and community spaces and through the creation of dental awareness videos. She continues to explore the impacts of technology and how it is changing the face of dentistry. Another passion is the inclusion of young girls and women in the medical field through sharing her experience and empowering them to strive to contribute to health industry for an improved healthcare system in Anguilla.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Richardson values integrity, respect, and building trust with her patients. She is committed to continuing her dental education to ensure she provides the best possible care to the people of Anguilla.
