Light of Hope Center (Qendra Drita e Shpresës)
Tax. The Light of Hope Center is a dedicated Christian organization that was founded in Albania in the year 2009, under the auspices of MNA Germany (Medizinische Nothilfe Albanien – www.mna-ev.de).
The roots of MNA’s involvement in Albania can be traced back to 1993 when they began their mission to provide essential medical support and healthcare services across the country. Over the years, this organization has extended its reach to more than 30 villages specifically located in the Pogradec District. Throughout their time in Albania, MNA has had a significant impact, having assisted more than 5,000 individuals who reside in both rural areas and urban cities, including the notable town of Pogradec. Their efforts include delivering medical care at state-run clinics as well as providing direct assistance to families who face various challenges due to a lack of resources. VISION
Healing of man in body, soul, and spirit as well as the impact on society and the health system through Jesus Christ. Purpose
Integration into society of persons with disabilities in the following areas:
PHYSICAL – SOCIAL – SPIRITUAL – CULTURAL
During the social unrest that took place in Albania in 1997, as well as during the Kosovo War that followed, MNA took on an incredibly vital role in the humanitarian efforts being made at that time. The organization successfully mobilized a considerable number of dedicated doctors and medical workers, enlisting them as volunteers to provide much-needed assistance. These volunteers worked tirelessly to carry out surgeries, treat various wounds, and offer care to refugees who fled the violence of the Kosovo war. In addition to their medical expertise, MNA also ensured that essential medical equipment was readily available for use, along with providing emergency support whenever it was deemed necessary. Their efforts not only helped alleviate suffering but also demonstrated a commitment to addressing the urgent healthcare needs that arose during these turbulent times. The overarching aim of establishing the Light of Hope Center was to create an independent Albanian organization that would be affiliated with MNA. This new entity is intended to operate as a legal partner in international efforts with a local focus, facilitating the pursuit of vital objectives aimed at improving health and well-being in the communities they serve. By forging this connection, the Light of Hope Center seeks to enhance its effectiveness and sustainability, ensuring that the legacy of compassion and aid continues to thrive within the region.
