ANTEA Cement Sh.A was established in Albania in 2006 as a joint investment of TITAN Group, International Finance Corporation and the European bank for Reconstruction and Development representing one of the biggest Greenfield investments in Albania. The company has been operating a cement plant in Boka e Kuqe, Kruje district, since 2010. ANTEA is part of the multi-regional cement producer, TITAN Group, the biggest cement producer in South Eastern Europe and one of the key cement producers in several other regions of the world. Currently the company has a production capacity of 1.5 million tons of cement per year and an average turnover of Euro 50 MLN (FY 2014). ANTEA exports a significant part of its production with export revenues of about 20.0 million euro/year, decreasing thus the trade deficit of Albania ANTEA employs 200 employees, with 44% of them coming from the local areas and only 3% of employees coming from other countries. Furthermore, an estimated 550 people from surrounding areas are employed indirectly through ANTEA’s contractors and service providers. The Cement plant was built utilizing best available technologies and best international practices. The plant was built following a detailed Environmental and Social Impact Assessment study and through a Public Consultation process, allowing the local community to partake in the process and express their concerns. Currently, the same principles of transparency and excellence are applied in ANTEA, as evidenced both by its certification for management systems of quality, environment, health and safety and social accountability (BS OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SA 8000) as well as by its commitment to corporate social responsibility, throughout its supply chains and operations.
