FUFARMA was established in 1946 as a state enterprise, which by it implemented all imports of medicaments and medical supplies into Albania and also managed the distribution of imported as well as the Albanian pharmaceutical local productions of Profarma and Antibiotic enterprises. Nowadays, FUFARMA Sh.a. - a privatized company- is one of Albania's leading players in elaboration and distribution of imported and local pharmaceuticals and supply of medical materials and equipment. It has enjoyed the exclusivity for storage, supervision, supply of medical materials and medicaments for all hospitals of Albania and the right of distribution for all medicaments of bids by the Ministry of Health for the health institutions.
