Vickino Driving health systems transformation at a global scale

31/12/2025

2025 was a year of consolidation, growth, and meaningful impact.🎄

Throughout the year, we strengthened our positioning through deep expertise in health innovation and digital transformation, focusing on the development of sustainable, technology-enabled healthcare systems. A key priority remained the transformation of the healthcare ecosystem in Armenia, where we continue to apply and scale our expertise to support long-term system development.

In parallel, we successfully exported our knowledge and experience internationally, supporting projects and collaborations across Switzerland, France, North Macedonia, Georgia, the United Arab Emirates, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These engagements reaffirmed the global relevance of our approach and the importance of cross-border collaboration.🌐🤝

Knowledge sharing remained central to our mission in 2025. Through education initiatives and thought leadership, including participation in international conferences, we actively contributed to global discussions on healthcare transformation, digital health, and innovation.📚

This year also marked a strong strategic focus on primary care. Significant efforts were dedicated to the launch of OHFAR, the advancement of preventive dentistry projects, and the development of primary care telemedicine solutions, reinforcing our commitment to prevention, accessibility, and patient-centered care.🦷

As we close 2025, we would like to thank all our partners and collaborators for their trust and continued cooperation. 🥰

We wish you a Happy New Year and look forward to continuing our journey of innovation, impact, and collaboration in 2026!🥳

is taking a bold step toward a smarter, more connected healthcare future 🇲🇹.

The launch of the Digital Health and Health Data Strategy 2030 marks a pivotal moment in the nation’s healthcare journey, setting a clear roadmap for a patient-centered, digitally enabled, and innovation-driven health system.

Congratulations to Dr Stefan Buttigieg MD MSPH MSc and his colleagues on this important achievement and the tremendous work behind it.

The strategy places Data, Digital Transformation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the heart of healthcare, aiming to:

• Empower citizens and patients through innovative digital solutions 💡
• Leverage AI to enhance diagnostics, treatment, and clinical decision-making 🤖
• Improve digital tools for healthcare providers and ensure continuity of care 🏥
• Strengthen cybersecurity, interoperability, and governance 🔐

At Vickino, we are always inspired to see such transformative initiatives. Our mission is to make healthcare more digital, accessible, and efficient, helping countries like Malta turn ambitious strategies into real-world solutions that improve care for patients everywhere 🤝.

🚀 A new milestone in digital health! Two surgeons at CHU de Bordeaux have successfully performed a heart operation on a patient in China 10,000 km away marking a world first in remote cardiac surgery 🫀.

This breakthrough shows the power of modern medicine when telesurgery meets advanced technology and global collaboration.

Using cutting-edge robotic surgical systems and high-speed connectivity, the team operated in a shared virtual surgical field, delivering precise, minimally invasive care with enhanced safety and recovery.

Telesurgery is now a global reality, building on the pioneering Operation Lindbergh in 2001, when French surgeons performed a transatlantic robotic surgery between France and the USA 🌍.

See more breakthroughs that bring high‑quality care to people no matter their location or distance.

🇨🇱 Chile – Reach Surgical’s OMNIBOT system enabled remote urology surgeries across the country
🇧🇪 Belgium – AZORG Hospital performed remote robot-assisted prostate and gynecological surgeries with the Toumai system
🇺🇸 🇦🇴 USA-Angola – AdventHealth carried out a groundbreaking international remote surgery trial

At Vickino, we’re thrilled to see such transformations this is exactly the kind of digital health evolution we believe in.

The Ministry of Health of North Macedonia has expressed strong interest in advancing telemedicine solutions for penitentiary health 🏥📡

As part of an official mission in North Macedonia, we held a working meeting at the Ministry of Health, together with the Council of Europe (CoE), which has been actively supporting penitentiary health reforms for many years with the backing of the European Union.

The Council of Europe invited Vickino and our CEO Dr Robin Vicken Ohannessian MD MPH PhD as international expert to conduct an initial feasibility analysis, building on the national telemedicine experience developed in .

We are proud to share and transfer proven expertise from Armenia to Europe and the Balkans, and to actively support North Macedonia in designing and implementing effective telemedicine solutions for prison health systems.

Penitentiary health remains a critical yet often overlooked component of primary care. Telemedicine offers a practical, scalable solution to improve access, quality, and continuity of care for incarcerated populations.

From North Macedonia, we stand ready to support other countries in the region and beyond.

Our sincere thanks to the Council of Europe and Gjakush Kabashi for the collaboration.

Our CEO had an inspiring meeting with Narine Hayrapetyan and Marianna Hakobyan from FIDEC (Fighting Infectious Diseases in Emerging Countries) Armenia

FIDEC (Fighting Infectious Diseases in Emerging Countries) has been active in Armenia for many years, leading impactful work in infectious diseases, rural community health programs, and occupational health. They have also played a key role in advancing HPV research in Armenia, in collaboration with iacopo baussano from the IARC - International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization in Lyon 🇫🇷.

During the meeting, Vickino and FIDEC Armenia explored new opportunities for collaboration, including the potential integration of dental screenings into FIDEC’s free rural health campaigns planned for 2026.

As an organization, Vickino actively supports health NGOs in strengthening their strategy, digital transformation, and innovative health solutions — and we are excited to explore how we can contribute to FIDEC’s mission.

FIDEC is one of the few healthcare NGOs in with roots in 🇦🇷, and their long-standing commitment to improving public health continues to inspire us.
