COVID-19 համավարակի պայմաններում հակաբիոտիկների ոչ պատշաճ նշանակումը և չարաշահումը կարող է վատթարացնել հակամանրէային դեղերի նկատմամբ կայունության զարգացումը` ունենալով աղետալի հետևանքներ գլոբալ մակարդակով: Այսօր կփորձենք հասկանալ` ի՞նչ է հակաբիոտիկների նկատմամբ կայունությունը:

Հակաբիոտիկները 20-րդ դարի «հրաշք» հայտնագործություններից են, սակայն այսօր համարվում են ժամանակակից աշխարհի ամենամեծ «չարիքներից» մեկը: Այս ծայրահեղ փոփոխության հիմքերը պատմության մեջ են:

Մինչև հակաբիոտիկների հայտնաբերումը մարդիկ վարակները բուժում էին բորբոսով կամ բուսական էքստրակտներով, օրինակ` եգիպտացիները բորբոքված վերքերի վրա բորբոսնած հաց էին դնում: Բակտերիաներով հարուցված վարակները, ինչպիսիք են` թոքաբորբը, փորլուծությունը, որոնք համարվում էին մահվան թիվ մեկ պատճառ նույնիսկ զարգացած երկրներում, հակաբիոտիկների շնորհիվ դարձան հեշտ բուժելի:
