The fintech sector in Africa is transforming financial access and creating new opportunities for millions of people.
In recent years, growth has been remarkable, with projections pointing to a USD 47 billion market by 2028.

But this evolution does not come without challenges. In 2023, funding fell by 37%, and in the first half of 2024, it recorded another decline of 51%. Still, the sector shows maturity: debt financing increased by 182%, a sign of more sustainable and business-oriented models.

Although digital payments represent only 5–7% of transactions in Africa, the potential is enormous. By 2025, transaction volumes are expected to reach USD 188 billion, revealing an impressive path of expansion.

At Jeta, we believe these numbers highlight not only the obstacles but also the opportunities to accelerate financial inclusion and drive the continent’s economic development.

At the 2nd International Congress on the Response to HIV, held to mark the 20th anniversary of the National Institute for the Fight against AIDS (INLS) and inaugurated by Vice-President Esperança da Costa and Minister of Health Sílvia Lutucuta, YapamaYapama proudly took part, reaffirming its commitment to advancing healthcare delivery across Africa.

The fight against HIV/AIDS in Angola remains a pressing challenge, with cases on the rise and health systems under increasing pressure. Within this context, Yapama plays a vital role by equipping healthcare institutions with the tools and technologies necessary for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Our participation in this congress reinforces Yapama’s mission — to promote innovative healthcare solutions that strengthen health systems and improve lives across the continent.

On August 29, our subsidiary Aliva Saúde hosted the 4th edition of the “Jornadas de Enfermagem para Cuidar”, now recognized as one of the leading initiatives for advancing nursing in Angola.
