Breastfeeding is the foundation for a healthy start in life. This proclamation recognizes the critical role that WIC plays in promoting, protecting, and supporting breastfeeding for mothers and babies across our territory.

This yearโ€™s theme for World Breastfeeding Week 2025 is:

This is special bulletin from the American Samoa Department of Homeland Security โ€“TEMCO issued at 3:30 PM Tuesday July 29, 2025.

The NOAA Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii has confirmed that an earthquake with an 8.7 magnitude occurred off the East Coast of Kamchatka, Russia at 12:25 PM SST on Tuesday July 29, 2025.

A TSUNAMI ADVISORY CONTINUES IN EFFECT FOR AMERICAN SAMOA!!!!!! A TSUNAMI WAS GENERATED BY THIS EARTHQUAKE. BASED ON AVAILABLE DATA THERE IS THREAT TO AMERICAN SAMOA!!! THE EARLIEST ESTIMATED TIME THAT HAZARDOUS SEA LEVEL FLUNCTUATIONS AND STRONG OCEAN CURRENTS MAY BEGIN IN AMERICAN SAMOA IS 9:39 PM SST ON TUESDAY JULY 29 2025.

THE PUBLIC IS URGED TO STAY OUT OF THE OCEAN. THOSE NEAR THE OCEAN SHOULD MOVE AWAY FROM BEACHES AND HARBORS!
