Mit Andys Vertrauen habe ich meine musikalische Hörberatung ins Leben gerufen. Er hatte sofort entschieden, dass er mit mir eine Geschäftspartnerin auf Augenhöhe gefunden hat. Der Brexit erschwerte unsere Geschäftsbeziehung, aber sie riss nie ab.
Ich bin zutiefst betroffen, dass er schon von uns gegangen ist. Eine große Verneigung vor seinem Lebenswerk und möge es weiter leben!

It is with deep respect and gratitude that we honour the life and legacy of Andy Shiach, founder of ACS Custom. Who sadly passed away on Wednesday 14th January 2026.
Andy dedicated his life to protecting one of our most vital senses — hearing. His journey began with personal experience. As a young man, Andy suffered permanent hearing damage following a noise-related incident, a moment that changed the course of his life. What followed was not resignation, but purpose.
Determined to ensure others would not face the same fate without support, Andy retrained in audiology and committed himself to better solutions for people exposed to challenging sound environments.
In 1994, he founded ACS with a clear and uncompromising belief: hearing protection should be effective, comfortable, and allow people to remain fully connected to the world around them.
From a small UK workshop, Andy built ACS with patience, integrity, and care. What began as handcrafted solutions for a local community grew into products trusted across the world.
Today, ACS supports musicians and music professionals, alongside individuals working in industry, motorsport, emergency services, broadcasting, aviation, and many other sectors, wherever sound plays a critical role and hearing must be preserved.
Andy’s leadership was defined not by scale, but by values. He listened deeply, challenged unsafe norms, and refused to compromise on quality or ethics. His empathy, shaped by lived experience, influenced every product, every partnership, and every person who passed through ACS.
Andy Shiach leaves behind more than a company. He leaves a legacy of careers protected, lives improved, and moments preserved. Proof that thoughtful engineering, guided by genuine care, can make a lasting difference.
His work continues.
His values endure.
His impact will be felt for generations.
